Mary Baker Eddy Christian Science 6 Sterling Souvenir Spoon by Durgin
Mary Baker Eddy Christian Science 6 Sterling Souvenir Spoon by Durgin. This is a somewhat hard-to-locate item. The value is not inherent in the silver content; the value is found by those who value Mary Baker Eddy’s discovery, and the challenges she endured in bringing the same to the general public. I’ve not polished the item; you will receive this item as pictured. Anyway, the bowl presents a view of Mrs. Eddy’s home at Pleasant View, a facsimile of her signature appears between the bowl and a rendering of her face, and the back (behind the facial rendering) contains the statement, “Not matter but Mind satisfieth” with a cross and crown appearing on both the front and back of the’top’ of the spoon. I’ve placed a quarter in the picture for a size reference. The edition of “Science and Health” on which the spoon was placed for the photograph is the Reader’s Edition, so this is not some dinky version of the spoon by Durbin with which we may or may not be?
