Here’s a great piece to add to your souvenir spoon or Halloween collection! This Sterling Silver spoon was made by Gorham Silver Company for the Daniel Low Co. A small jewelry shop located in Salem. It is in remarkable condition – no dents, bends, deformations, etc. It has not been monogramed. It measures 4 1/4 in overall length. It is clearly marked with appropriate’hallmarks / Sterling / Daniel Low’ on the back of the spoon. The front of the spoon is adorned with a witch and broom on a crescent moon at the top of the handle. At the base of the handle where it meets the bowl of the spoon sits an arch backed cat. The handle is also marked “Salem” near the cats body and “1692”. These spoons were designed and introduced as souvenirs from Salem’s historic witch trials, but they certainly fit the bill for Halloween collectibles as well.
