This recent find is from the Estate of a Hobby and Antique Store owner and is a LOT OF 3 Sterling Silver Souvenir Spoons all with a Native American theme. Total Weight is 78 grams. All spoons have makers marks and are stamped STERLING. All three spoons are in Excellent condition for use and age. Spoon Bowl – Features Statement “THUS WAS MANHATTAN AGAIN LEFT IN PRIMEVAL SOLITUDE WAITING FOR COMMERCE TO COME AND CLAIM IT’S OWN” along with Native American Scene. Engraved on back of bowl – Fisher December 17-09. Native American Indian Kneeling while holding Spear and Tomahawk. Back of spoon – Features Eagle with statement “THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and E PLURIBUS UNUM” and tomahawk. No Monograms or engravements on this spoon. Native American Standing while holding Bow and arrows with Dog facing him. Handle also features Tomahawk. Front Bowl has engraved “Killbuck”. Back of handle has engraved “Myrtle 1923″. Measures approximately 5.5.

These are each beautiful works of art and will be treasured. Christmas spoons are a very popular collectors’ item & in Denmark as well. They come in several different versions, silver or gilt, with enamel decoration and bowl of spoons being gold plated. Anton Michelsen, who started the Christmas spoon tradition in Denmark, established himself as a goldsmith and to the Danish court. He commissioned a noted Danish artist to design each years piece. Solid Swedish Silver Laplander Cherub Spoon with Hall Marks
Solid Swedish Silver Laplander Cherub Spoon with Hall Marks. Presented is a beautiful Laplander Cherub or Angel spoon with a wide deep bowl with an engraved floral motif. This great piece appears to have possibly been a traveling spoon that may have consisted of a piece meant to attach the bowl to the shaped handle or at one time had a past repair attempted for reattachment of bowl. It is marked on the handle for silver made in Sweden for 830 fine silver with a makers mark of what I believe to be LB; please see pictures for closer detail of marks. American standard sterling silver is 925 fine so there is slightly less silver in this alloy. I have posted pictures of my research in the photos above. This beautiful piece has no monogram with some dents and dings with only some fine scratches from use and care. I have left this piece unpolished to protect its patina of the item. It is a beautiful of antique silver for the collector. I have an interesting assortment of items listed so please look at my other auctions. 5 ¾” inches long, 2 1/8″ inches across bowl. 8 ounces on my postal scale or 22 grams. It is marked on the handle for silver made in Sweden for 830 fine silver with a makers mark of what I believe to be LB.
