Here is a large and wonderful collection of Chicago Worlds Fair souvenir spoons from the 1893 Worlds Fair/Columbian Exposition. The fair marked the 400th anniversary of Columbus landing on American soil. The collection is made up of 96 spoons, 52 of which are sterling silver, and 43 of silver plate, and one copper example. The first 9 spoon photographs are sterling examples (one of the silver spoons is not in the photographs) , the last two photos show samples of the silver plate and one copper example. I can gladly provide additional photos or close ups as requested. Included in the group are two custom made spoon racks, each holding 50 spoons, and measuring 27 1/4″ x 13 1/2″. The cabinets are made of wood with glass doors, and each shelf has hardware attached to hang from a wall. Also included is a copy of World’s Fair Spoons Volume 1, the World’s Columbian Exposition by Chris McGlothlin. This is a lifelong collection and includes many rare spoons. None of the spoons will be offered individually. The grouping will be professionally packed insuring safe passage.
