Confederate Mississippi Sterling Souvenir Spoon with Flag -Antique. My mother inherited a group of spoons belonging to the mother of her friend. That mother, if she were still living would be about 120 years old. Mom has asked me to sell a few of the spoons, so here is one of them. This spoon is a sterling silver spoon with a complete rifle for a handle. On the butt of the rifle is a Confederate flag. In the bowl of the spoon is an embossed image of a colonial style house with trees and the words: Confederate Home, Beauvoir, Mississippi The flag is done in enamel, which has no chips. All done with remarkable detail. Back of the bowl is plain. The spoon is in excellent vintage condition. Stamped with the makers name Mermod & Jaccard, sterling and Pat Appl’d for Lucille Webb Banks. Along the rifle is imprinted United Confederate Veterans. This rifle spoon can be seen in Wayne Bednersh’s Souvenir Spoons book, pg 260.
