Wonderful and whimsical early souvenir spoon from Catalina Island California. All of this detail fits perfectly into the tiny gilded bowl that is just over 1″ long by about 3/4″ wide! Spoon terminates with a fantastic 2-sided fish with scales, fins, and what a face! Demitasse spoon is approximately 4 in length and weighs approximately 9 grams. Fully hallmarked “CB&H STERLING” for Codding Bros. We date this spoon to about 1900, though it could easily be 5 or more years earlier (Holly Hill was completed in 1890). We’ll leave this treasure in unpolished and uncleaned condition as we found it, complete with its 100+ year patina. Multiple oversize images so you can see the quality and condition for yourself.
