





This is an antique very large sterling silver serving spoon in the Napoleonic pattern, introduced in 1905. Weight: A hefty 90+ grams. Maker’s marks: It is marked Shreve & Co. Sterling Pat Jan 12 1909 with the old fancy S-Bell-S hallmark used by Shreve, an American company that made very good quality silver and was quite highly regarded. Engraving dates, scenes, names, initials, etc. : S on the front of the handle within the laurel wreath. Any white, dark or other off-color spots are camera flash or reflection.
