Rose Pattern Hooded Medicine or Feeding Spoon This late 19th century medicine spoon was made in sterling silver by the Wallace Mfg Company in their 1898 Rose pattern. The spoon is approximately 6 long. The design of the hood and the bowl of the spoon makes it possible to measure out a dose of medicine in the hooded portion while the spoon is held vertically and then can be dispensed into the mouth. The hood serves a second purpose in that it reduces the aroma/odor of the medicine while being administered. There is no monogram or other engraving. The spoon is in excellent as found condition and would benefit from some hand polishing. This item is in the category “Antiques\Silver\Sterling Silver (.925)\Souvenir Spoons”.
