A unique Boulder Colorado sterling souvenir spoon with an embossed oil derrick in the bowl. Next to the derrick “Boulder” is engraved. On the handle and stem are typical embossed scenes with the word Colorado, a Native American, Colorado state seal, and a nice miner and burro at the tip. On the back is a mountain scene and a floral arrangement. Makers mark is a D with the letter E on the inside. I can’t identify this one so if you know it any help would be greatly appreciated. Boulder Colorado had a short-lived oil exploration that peaked in 1909. The oil found was extracted from shale and did not have as much production as surrounding towns at the time. Dimensions: Bowl: 1.9″ X 1.2″, Length = 5.4. Condition (9/10) Shows light signs of use. Noticeable patina all over. No chips or scratches.
